Depackaging Operative

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Job Title **Depackaging Operative

**Responsible To **Site Manager

**Reports**

**Summary of the role**:
This role is key to the smooth operation of the depackaging facility. Reporting to the senior operator
& site manager, this manual labour role requires attention to detail and a safety conscious individual.

**Responsibilities and key duties**:

- Processing of food waste deliveries to site, including waste sorting.
- Operation of depackaging machinery/plant including general maintenance
- Processing of residual packaging (to include high quality output good skip weights with mínimal food organic contamination)
- Driving of telehandler & FLT, moving product from the reception building apron into feeders, moving pallets and containers etc
- Ensuring the depackaging facility is always kept tidy and presentable and routine hygiene and housekeeping is implemented.
- Cleaning vehicles down as they exit the depackaging facility hall

**Skills, Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required**:
**Preferred experience/qualifications**
- Shredder and or screener experience (desirable but not essential)
- Operation loading shovel/ tractor/ telehandler / forklift truck

**Hours (to be reviewed regularly)**

Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm

**Salary**: Up to £25,000.00 per year
