**Housekeeping Assistant**

**Lancashire**

**£11.44 per hour (Enhanced Pay at Weekends.)**

**To work 5 days over 7 including weekends. 7am till 3pm**

**Purpose**

To assist with maintaining the highest possible standard of cleanliness throughout the Service including the laundry.

**Key Relationships**
- This role carries no line management responsibilities
- Responsible for working alongside and/or supporting volunteers within their team

**Qualifications required**
- No formal qualifications required

**Experience, Skills and Ability**
- Able to work both as part of a team and on their own
- Able to communicate verbally and in writing
- Able to work within policies and procedures and Behavioural Framework
- Understanding of COSHH and Health and Safety Regulations

**Complexity and Accountability**
- This post holds no budgetary responsibility but will be expected to ensure costs and expenditures are kept within agreed limits
- Accountable to understand personal responsibilities in relation to the Health & Safety at Work legislation and demonstrate a working knowledge of COSHH requirements

**Key Responsibilities**
- Responsible to clean all areas of the Service as per daily cleaning schedules, manage laundry, following guidance from the Housekeeping Supervisor
- To carry out all duties with due regard for the Health and Safety of service users, staff, volunteers and visitors
- Responsible to ensure safe storage and use of chemicals and equipment with COSHH and Health and Safety requirements
- To work with a number of different equipment. To report the need for repair or maintenance of equipment and for materials to be replenished
- To record all information required
- To work to national and local cleaning standards
- Facilitating the safe and smooth running of the Service, the post holder is expected to maintain a safe working environment, maintain service user confidentiality, and occasionally taking on reasonable additional tasks
