**THE ROLE**

On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are seeking to recruit Specialist Mentors (Autistic Spectrum Conditions) to work 8 - 10 hours per month.

This role is trained to provide personal and professional advice to autistic adults when taking part in involvement activities.

This includes a range of support around coping with anxiety and stressful situations, how to deal with concentration difficulties, time management and prioritising involvement capacity. Specialist Mentors help to address areas that are currently holding Lived Experienced Partners back to develop strategies to move forward and prepare to find and maintain paid or voluntary employment.

The Mentoring relationship role is to promote also independent learning as well as empowering Lived Experienced Partners to manage their involvement while supporting them to access suitable healthcare and undertaking safety planning, especially during times of transitioning.

Please note that this role is not at the University.

Expected start date: ASAP

Rate of pay: £28.00

Holiday Pay: £3.38

This role is a Office based role working the following hours: 8 - 10 hours per month

An enhanced DBS will be required for the role.

**Duties and responsibilities**

Provide one to one mentoring support in a regular hour, or two hour, long sessions assisting the Lived Experienced Partner in their work with the client by supporting them to cope with their involvement and planning against anxiety and stressful situations, or concentration; important strategies such as time management and prioritising involvement activities will be key elements of a Specialist Mentoring role and as they relate to the work Lived Experienced Partners will be involved with.

Establish and maintain a supportive, working relationship.

Maintain records and other administrative documents that may contain personal and sensitive information including timesheets and records of work

Maintain a high standard of confidentiality regarding Lived Experience Partner’s information in accordance with the client's guidelines on GDPR and The Data Protection Act 2018.

**Internal and External Relationships**

Internal

Staff at all levels across the business - using communication skills with sensitivity and diplomacy.

Peers at further training, CPD and meetings as required.

Buddy up with staff allocated to the Lived Experience Partner to ensure regular contact and provide feedback on their work in supervision to maintain a high-quality service.

Patient Experience and Involvement Team - a recognition of when there is a need to refer information.

Colleagues within other services

**External**

Specialist Mentors (Autistic Spectrum Conditions) may need to liaise with health and social care organisation and their staff and should be prepared for this if it is required.

Other support or medical services - a recognition of when there is a need to refer Lived Experience Partners to these services.

**Planning and Organising**

Specialist Mentors (Autistic Spectrum Conditions) will require a high level of personal organisation.

Ability to plan, allocate and evaluate own work, being able to deal with pressure and prioritisation,

Ability to multi-task in a busy environment

Ability to assist in developing recovery plans.

Ability to work in an enabling and creative way.

Ability to manage, plan and prioritise workload.

Good skills required to motivate, negotiate, persuade, train others, empathise, and provide reassurance.
