We're recruiting for a forward-thinking Buyer who will play a key role in the delivery, costing, and analysis of product components, material and manufacturing processes across Kingfisher. Working closely with the product team and the banners for your material category to define the sourcing needs and build a Sourcing strategy with the objective of lowering costs and developing operational excellence

What's the job?:

- Engage with key internal stakeholders to ensure delivery focusing on Product Lead, Banner market managers, Sourcing offices, QA Teams and Supply chain. Build strong relationships.
- Provide Material Sourcing Strategies that support the needs of BAU and deliver business objectives local and OEB
- Analyse end-to-end value chain, from product components (e.g. raw materials, packaging) to manufacturing processes to provide the lowest total acquisition cost for the wider material-based products
- Link cost of product components with product specification/ performance to deliver the right cost
- Define with Sourcing Offices where the right suppliers are in order to be able to guarantee the right quality and quantities for the Group
- Restructure the vendor base to define the right mix of vendors and right locations to obtain the most competitive commercial offering with the minimum level of risk
- Analyse the data on related categories using your materials. Define the best optimization potentials to reduce cost and increase delivery efficiencies

What you'll bring:

- Material experience including understanding the production process and manufacturing costs for material
- Understanding of costs including Bill of materials / product makeup
- Proven track record of product costing and cost reduction.
- Strong end to end product expertise including building range structure, product development/costing, materials & components and manufacturing processes.
- Product Development and Lifecycle Management
