**Role summary The post-holder will**: Be responsible and accountable for part of the Trusts payroll; paying staff accurately and correctly within the specified timescale using both manual timesheets and the electronic Direct Time and Attendance recording systems. Be experienced in processing monthly and weekly payrolls. Have knowledge and experience of working with payroll software; preferably ESR, but this is not essential. Enter basic pension details into the payroll system and implement changes as instructed by the Payroll Manager.

Input the content from the ESR Connect and E-Rostering amendment forms into ESR. Have a good demonstrable working knowledge of PAYE legislation, National Insurance, Statutory Maternity/Paternity Pay and Statutory Sick Pay. Ensure that the timesheet and absence systems operate efficiently and effectively. Be able to plan, prioritise and organise their own workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks in line with department deadlines.

Processes new starters, leavers and all changes (temporary and permanent) to employees pay and inform the Inland Revenue of all starters and leavers. Ensures that all payments made to employees are in accordance with both local and national terms and conditions, whilst ensuring that these payments are made in accordance with statutory obligations. Process final salary payments for leavers. Ensure accuracy of the payroll information input onto financial systems to enable other departments to provide accurate statistical data and budget projections.

The assurance of a completely confidential service ensuring full compliance with the Data Protection Act and GDPR. The ability to work accurately under pressure and to strict deadlines. To provide cover during periods of sickness and absence, etc. of other staff in the Payroll Department.

Any other duties as may be delegated by the Payroll Manager.
