**Role Overview**:As a SEND, Looked After Children and Vulnerable Groups Caseworker, you will be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing high-quality casework to children and young people with SEND, Looked After Children, and other vulnerable individuals. Your work will contribute to achieving positive educational outcomes and preparing these individuals for adulthood, independence, and employment within their communities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Engage with children, young people, parents, and carers to ensure active participation in services received
- Follow the assess, plan, deliver, and review cycle based on best practice principles
- Ensure Looked After Children, vulnerable young people, and those with SEND achieve positive educational outcomes
- Align education placements with identified needs and sustain placements through effective resourcing and adaptations
- Swiftly and effectively resolve placement breakdowns with child-centered solutions
- Prepare departmental records for tribunals and external scrutiny purposes
- Develop practice through continuous professional development
- Support transition planning and access to Career, Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) to ensure preparing for adulthood principles are met

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Degree or equivalent qualification (essential)
- L4 Professional Careers Guidance or Information, Advice and Guidance qualification (desirable)
- Experience working with families, professionals, and managing caseloads
- Collaborative working experience with partners like schools, colleges, and health professionals
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary casework in a local authority setting (desirable)
- Experience working directly with children and/or young people (desirable)
- Knowledge of SEND legal issues and tribunal process (desirable)
- Understanding of children's development through 0-25 years and SEND outcomes planning

**Skills and Personal Qualities**:

- Thorough knowledge of Special Educational Needs and the Code of Practice 0-25
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Good ICT skills
- Drive for co-production with children, young people, and families
- Commitment to an inclusive ethos for SEND education and Looked After individuals
- Ability to contribute to a team ethos with strong performance management
- Adaptability, flexibility, and working well under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for positive change
- Enthusiasm for improving outcomes, especially related to Preparing for Adulthood

**Additional Information**:

- Temporary position for casework involving SEND, Looked After Children, and vulnerable groups
- Travel is an essential requirement of the post

**Salary**: £13.41 per hour
