Here at Serco, we are looking for a Housing Officer to join our team at our at the Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract. AASC offers a range of improvements, with particular focus on assisting individuals through the asylum system.

The Housing Officer is a key role to ensure:

- Delivery of services required under the AASC contract to support Service Users in their Area
- Responsibility for property standards in all accommodation within their Area, completing monthly property inspections (as a minimum) to ensure they meet contractual requirements, standards, and performance targets
- Completing monthly inspections of properties to ensure standards are being met, and highlight any required maintenance
- Respond to any issues, requests, complaints, etc. raised through the AIRE Services and report on incidents
- Provide welfare support and signposting to the Service Users in their care
- Responsible for ensuring safety of Service Users in accordance with Safeguarding policies and procedures, including: dealing with urgent medical needs, managing anti-social behaviour, children’s safeguarding needs, etc.

**What you need to do the job**

This is an opportunity for an individual who has experience of working in a service environment.

This is a field-based role, therefore the successful post holder must have the ability to travel within the regions and occasionally within the UK (a valid UK driver’s licence is essential).

Ideally, the successful post holder should have knowledge/experience of working within a property related environment.

It is essential that they are IT literate and have good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, etc.

They must be an excellent communicator and have great interpersonal skills. Furthermore, they must be highly organised. Having the ability to manage conflict is an important part of the role. Having some experience in safeguarding would be desirable.
