St Columba's are seeking an ICT Apprentice to join their ICT team.
St Columba's is an independent, non-denominational day school for children aged 3 to 18. They are one of Scotland's highest achieving schools, nestled in the beautiful town of Kilmacolm, near Glasgow.
- Salary - £14,000 - £16,000 per annum
- Working hours - Monday - Friday, 08:15 - 16:15
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Log, categorise and prioritise helpdesk requests
- Keep staff informed of progress with outstanding helpdesk requests
- Ensure back-up of data as directed by the ICT Manager
- Install new hardware/peripherals as directed by the ICT Manager
- Install software as directed by the ICT Manager
- Maintain school ipads and install apps
- Offer technical advice to members of teaching and administrative staff
- Manage laptop carts ensuring fully charged and ready for use
- Carry out scheduled reimaging of desktop PCs and laptops
- Set-up Audio Visual equipment
- Carry out minor repairs of computer equipment as directed by the ICT Manager
- Attend weekly ICT meetings with the ICT Manager and the Bursar
**Key Qualities**:
- Must have a genuine interest in ICT and desire to learn and develop new skills
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of Dell, HP and Apple products
- Must be punctual, reliable and conscientious
- Must have a helpful approach and professional attitude
- Must have a good standard of written and verbal communication
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Must have good practical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work effectively with other members of the ICT and wider school teams
