Fabric Technologist

We are recruiting a Fabric Technologist to work alongside the product development and technical teams of a leading supplier advising on fabric standards and procedures, sustainability, compliance, and care labelling.

12 to 16 hours per week, hybrid role.

**Responsibilities**
- Providing fabric technical support to internal team and customers
- Ensure fabric is quality managed to meet performance standards and market regulations whilst maintaining critical path dates
- Proactively troubleshoot possible production issues regarding fabric characteristics, technical construction, lead times, colours, and provide solutions or recommendations to mitigate risk in bulk production
- Manage test reports, implementing corrective action or solutions where fabric performance falls below expected standard
- Approve wash care and fibre compositions
- Manage bulk fabric and colour continuity
- Critical path management
- Maintain database of fabric suppliers, keeping certificates and actioning audits
- Manage REACH and chemical compliance
- Manage BCI cotton platform and other sustainable fabric verification process (including GRS)
- Ensure customer raw materials policies are followed
- Awareness of new fabric developments and innovations that may benefit the business or customers
- In depth woven and knitted fabric production and testing process knowledge
- Confident in implementing robust and efficient fabric management systems
- Understanding of sustainable fabric standards (Textile Exchange, BCI etc) and verification process (scope certificates,

transaction certificates etc)
- Informed on REACH regulations and other relevant global substances legislation
- Attention to detail, efficient and able to work calmly under pressure
- Previous experience working with M&S, Next, SGS/Interlink systems is desirable
- Able to work alone remotely and communicate with colleagues and clients confidently
