**Overview**

As a company, Walter Rose and Son Ltd have developed a highly customer-focused team to help us deliver our products to commercial and private customers across the country. Our fleet of circa 28 vans are out on the roads 6 days a week to ensure that customers far and wide can enjoy our exceptional products.

**Responsibilities **
- Daily completion of Vehicle Checks before starting your journey - as per vehicle checklists provided (including signing for any new damages)
- Keeping the overall cleanliness of the van to a high standard; internally and externally
- Daily checks of drivers notice board for any updates including hours rota, route allocation and van service/repair schedule.
- Daily completion and return of driver’s route sheet and receipt book
- Checking orders against invoices, to ensure orders on the van are complete before starting your route
- Taking responsibility for company property and ensuring return of delivery crates used each day
- Driving safely and courteously at all times, within speed limits and in line with current UK legislation
- Being the face of Walter Rose, offering excellent customer service at all times and ensuring those we deliver to have a great experience
- Regularly checking for messages or phone calls from management via phone or tracker screen and returning calls as soon as it is safe to do so.
- Ensuring you follow company procedure for deliveries, including specific guidelines for non-accepted deliveries and returned goods
- Attending quarterly 121’s with line manager
- Reporting any concerns regarding vehicles to transport manager e.g. for maintenance/repairs/weight limits
- Following company procedure for reporting and recording any driving related incidents
- Drivers are expected to be smart and presentable, wearing uniform supplied and ensuring hygiene standards are met at all times
- Completion of training as required by the company

**Relevant knowledge and experience**
- Experience of using Sat Nav or similar.
- Knowledge of road structure and layout.
- Experience in a customer facing role is desirable
- Fluent in English language

**Qualifications**
- Full United Kingdom Driving Licence

**Aptitude, skills, and abilities**
- Highly driven with a friendly and approachable personality
- Highly organised.
- Confident driving in both rural and city areas for long periods
- Attention to detail
- Flexible and accommodating

**Salary**: Up to £10.42 per hour
