**Responsible For** House Keeping **Reporting To ** Nurse on Duty

**Main Duties of the Job**
- To maintain a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment for the residents and staff within the home. Ensuring compliance with infection control at all times.
- To carry out laundry & housekeeping duties, whilst promoting choice and enabling residents to maintain independence and dignity.

**Care-specific responsibilities**
- Health and Safety in the workplace.
- Manual Handling procedures.
- Food Hygiene.
- Commitment and passion to provide high quality service.
- Strong interpersonal and empathy skills.
- Approachable attitude.
- Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
- Ability to prioritise and plan around Residents and other staff.
- Create an environment where customers feel able to participate and contribute to ideas.
- To work with kindness and consideration and to take pride in completing work to a high standard.
- Contribute to creating a well-maintained environment.
- Wearing appropriate clothing (Cathena HealthCare Uniform) and I.D at all times.

**Person Specification**
- Prior experience of undertaking a house keeping role.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Team Player.
- Adopts a positive and professional approach when dealing with residents to meet their needs.
- Willingness to participate in vocational training programmes
- Willing to undertake e-learning.
- Satisfactory police check and check against the ISA list.
- Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Understanding of Infection Control.
