Would you like to influence the future of healthcare in your area?
Become part of a network of patient leaders who are leading a change of culture and transforming services in our Trust and in the NHS.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is committed to improving the quality of health services. It is our vision to “to deliver the best healthcare in the UK for our patients in our community”, this is delivered through four strategic objectives:
- Exceed patient and customer expectation
- Work together to create a modern and sustainable healthcare system
- Deliver the best healthcare in the best possible place for patients
- Provide the best place to work, train and learn
Patient Leadership
When patients lead and manage their own health and well-being and when they have the confidence and skills to lead and influence others something special takes place.
We are looking to achieve a culture that consistently put patients’ needs first. Patients are key, and can be influential leaders who drive change, provide constructive challenge and work with us to deliver high quality, safe care.
We are looking to recruit ten ‘patient leaders’ to help us transform the relationships between health professionals and patients/the public and enable us to actively listen and respond to the voice of patients.
Patient leaders will work alongside patient partners and volunteers, strategically influencing and shaping the quality agenda. Individuals will be able to motivate and support people to work with change and have a mind-set for improving outcomes and impact.
Patient Leaders will receive a high level of support from the organisation including undergoing the Royal Berkshire Patient Leadership programme to further develop skills.
The town of Reading sits on the River Thames and is served by great road and rail links to London, Oxford, and Southampton. With excellent leisure and shopping facilities, and a thriving cultural scene, Reading is a wonderful place to live, work, and play and provides excellent facilities for families, including some of the best state and private schools in the UK. The CQC recently rated the care provided by The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as good. Our values; Compassionate, Aspirational, Resourceful, Excellent, reflect the type of Trust we aspire to be and you can join our dedicated and talented staff to make this happen.
