**Job summary**:
The Health Transformation Programme, within DWP is developing an in-house Health Assessment Service (HAS) which will improve the claimant experience and build trust for our citizens that require a health assessment as part of their benefit eligibility.

The Health Transformation Programme is developing a Health Transformation Area (HTA), which is a DWP in-housed area to safely test the design and scaling of the HAS. The HTA includes the end-to-end claimant journey for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), and the ‘Assess’ journey phase for citizens requiring a PIP assessment, a Work Capability Assessment or a specialist benefit assessment.

The Health Transformation Area aims to deliver transformation in three dimensions:

- The Claimant Experience
- More Effective and Efficient Service Delivery
- Greater Capability to Enable Change

**Job description**:
This is an exciting opportunity for a flexible, dynamic individual to join the Health Transformation Programme (HTP) to shape the future of what the Health Services will look like.

We are looking for Operational Leaders with a transformational mindset to lead within the ever-changing environment of our Health Transformation Area operational test-and-learn sites.

You will be responsible for leading in a large, multidisciplinary team to ensure the successful operational delivery of our service. As a visible and accessible leader, you will provide clear direction for your team, role-modelling inclusivity and a customer-focused mindset.

You will act as an agent for change within your team and beyond, championing adaptability, flexibility and innovation within your team and contributing as a key stakeholder into the design and transformation of our future services.

**Responsibilities**

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading the operation delivering health journeys for our claimants, including operational site activity, business continuity, resourcing and day to day leadership activities.
- Aligning and embedding agile methodologies into the operational environment, balancing delivery and learning to support the design of the service.
- Championing a culture of transformation in our services.
- Working with colleagues to drive performance improvements across the sites/geographical clusters.
- Being accountable for creating an environment to support the flexible effective personalised delivery of customer services and providing inspirational leadership to the site and beyond to ensure HTP programme priorities, performance outcomes and customer objectives are met.
- Engaging people across the transformation areas, setting high standards for people leadership throughout the business, and personally exemplifying “one customer, one business” behaviours.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the Programme including Clinicians, HTP Service Design and Digital teams to ensure Operational requirements are clearly articulated.
- Providing evidenced input into Programme prioritisation decisions.
