The Estates Department is looking to recruit a Governance and Committee Officer to provide high quality, efficient, flexible and professional business support within the Estates Department. The role will support the Policy and Governance Manager to deliver a range of Estates related committee and governance functions.

**The Opportunity**:
As part of the Estates Business Services Team, the role of the Estates Governance and Committee Officer is to provide high quality, efficient, flexible and professional business support within the Estates Department. The post holder will support the Policy and Governance Manager to deliver a range of Estates related committee and governance functions across the Estates Department.

Working within the Estates Business Services Team and line managed by the Policy and Governance Manager, the Estates Governance and Committee Officer will interface with senior colleagues from across the University community on a daily basis, the role will require considerable multi-tasking and the ability to judge competing requirements carefully.

The post-holder will provide governance support to one Estates related University governance committee (including the urgent decision making group) and one sub-group of the Committee. They each meet four times per year. The post-holder will also provide governance support to a variety of internal Estates related governance forums.

The post-holder manages the process for responding to Estates Department Freedom of Information Requests and Customer Complaints. The Department receives on average 67 Freedom of Information requests and 24 Customer Complaints each year.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- Executive level business support experience, including senior board level secretariat support.
- An understanding of the implications surrounding Freedom of Information, Data Protection and Equalities legislation.
- Strong IT skills including comprehensive knowledge of software packages, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to multi-task.
- Excellence in building and maintaining the confidence of others including senior management and external contacts.
