Community Fundraiser West

St Austell, United Kingdom Cornwall Hospice Care Full time

**What is the Community Fundraiser Job Role?**:
We are recruiting for a confident outgoing team player for our Community Fundraiser West role. Previous experience in the charity sector is not essential but useful. Previous experience working in a public facing role is essential and a background in hospitality, retail or telesales would be an advantage.

Your role is to engage and assist our incredible supporters who fundraise for Cornwall Hospice Care, whether individuals or organisations, giving them support, advice, and encouragement. You will be office based but often out and about meeting your fundraisers, giving talks to local social groups and attending cheque presentations.

**What does the Community Fundraiser role actually involve?**:
Alongside your normal duties you will also take the lead role, or support, community-based events with the rest of the Fundraising Team. These duties will mean working some evenings and weekends. This is a busy and often physical job as we are an events led fundraising team, where equipment has to be transported to event locations, you must have a driving license and be confident to drive a small van.

You will need to be a good and sympathetic communicator, confident to pick up the phone and call supporters, potential sponsors and act in a telesales capacity for some campaigns. You will need good writing and IT skills, previous experience of a Customer Relationship Management software package and WordPress websites would be an advantage.

This role is responsible for the West area of Cornwall.

**Hours and location for the Community Fundraiser role**:
The Community Fundraiser will split their office based time between our two fundraising offices in Hayle and St Austell, working collaboratively with their counterpart who covers the East Community area.

This role can be flexible to work around school hours but bear in mind it will require evening and weekend commitments.

“My friend was nursed so well, and had every attention during his last days. He twice asked me; who is paying for all this? and couldn’t believe it was free. What a wonderful world it would be if everyone had access to this standard of care.”
- Cornwall Hospice Care Family & Friends Feedback._

**Working for us**:
Our employees and volunteers are essential to the care we provide. In return, for joining a team of people having such a positive impact on others, we provide:

- A chance to make a real difference
- Supportive working environment
- Access to a wide range of training and development opportunities
- Generous annual leave entitlement of 35 days including bank holidays (pro-rata), which increases with service and the option to buy or sell leave
- Contributory pension scheme
- Life Assurance
- Non-contributory medical cash plan, with the option to include your family members
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Enhanced sick pay scheme

**Closing date: Monday 1st April 2024**:
**Interview date: week commencing 15th April 2024**:
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early.
