Tower Bridge is a working bascule bridge, leading events venue and a popular tourist attraction which receives circa 800,000 visitors. The Monument, which commemorates the Great Fire of London, is a visitor attraction also managed from Tower Bridge.
The Security Team is a critical service responsible for health, safety and welfare of visitors, staff and stakeholders as well as the protection of the Bridge by providing a visible physical security presence as well as CCTV surveillance.
The Tower Bridge Security Manager will, amongst other duties, play a key role in the strategic direction of security at the Bridge which includes emergency management/ planning, responses to threats and risks, and take responsibility and co-ordinate the response to an emergency incident. The post also has responsibility for the operational management and supervision of the Security Team consisting of Security Supervisors and Security Officers and the continuous development of this service.
In addition, you will also work with all other teams on the Bridge to assist and advise on security and safety matters including fire and external threats as necessary as well security at access points, internal/ external events and visitors/ contractors such as cleaning contractor and maintenance contractor.
You must have extensive demonstrable professional experience in a security management role within a similar environment with good technical understanding of security systems (CCTV including GDPR, Fire Systems, Door Access Control), and the ability to lead, manage, design and deliver protective security operations covering people, places and events.
The hours of work are 09:00hrs - 17:00hrs with at least 1 weekend out of 4 being worked averaging 35 hours.
