Machine Operator

Whitfire is a 4th generation family business that produces shavings and sawdust for the agricultural use in addition to poultry farmers and equine related use.

We are looking to appoint a shaving machinery operator to work along side 2 other people as a 3 person team.

The role will entail the supervision and operation of the industrial shavers to ensure that they are operating correctly, safely and efficiently; in addition to ensuring that the machinery and its surroundings are clean at all times.

A further element of the role includes ensuring that the cutting heads are sharp to maximise the operating efficiency of the shavers. The cutting heads are regularly removed by the supervisor and sharpened by a semi automated grinder that reconditions the cutting blades. This task will be relatively straight forward to anyone with prior experience of machine tools and/or engineering.

Full training will be provided to ensure safe and competent operation of the machinery.

Working hours are:
06:00 to 18:00 - Monday to Friday

06:00 to 13:00 - On Saturday's

Core time is 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, overtime is paid outside of that i.e.

06:00 - 08:00 + 17:00 - 18:00 plus all day Saturdays.

Overtime is rate x 1.5 (£18-00 per hour)

Breaktimes and lunchtimes are paid in addition to working time

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £12.00 per hour
