**Brief overview of the role**

To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-5 years. To ensure that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others. To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development.

Rate of Pay

**£6.00 per hour**

**Monday - Friday between 7.30am - 18.00pm**

**Basic role and Responsibilities**:

- To communicate and engage with children to support their speech and language development using different methods.
- To communicate effectively with members of the Nursery Team
- To welcome parents to the nursery in a cheerful and friendly manner
- Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with other staff
- To support the maintenance of objective, accurate and up-to-date records which identify children's individual needs, abilities and progress and use these as a basis for future planning
- To maintain a basic up to date knowledge of child development and the early years curriculum
- Ensure each child is collected by someone known to the setting
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring Setting policies and procedures are observed at all times
- To develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
- Record accidents in the accident book
