This position is for an Apprentice Grounds Person with focus on Turf and Sports pitches. Work includes maintenance and preparation of sports pitches including general grounds maintenance. This is a full time apprenticeship for a Grounds Person specialising in Turf who will be working with a experienced team within a sports enviroment. There is parking on site.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities can include**:
- Undertake Level 2 Sports Turf Operative qualification through supported distant learning and on the job training and assessment.
- Undertaking the routine grounds preparation, maintenance, and upkeep of all playing surfaces, both grass and artificial, as directed by the Head Groundsmen.
- Involved in the preparation, to the highest standard of the Sports Field pitches.
- Creating, marking out and setting up playing surfaces.
- Maintaining lawns and landscape areas.
- Maintaining an awareness of the Health and Safety Regulations in your areas of responsibility.
- Carrying out safe working practices at all times.
- Machinery, equipment, and vehicle operation in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions and Health and Safety regulations.
- Informing the Head Groundsmen of any breakdowns or defects to equipment or machinery.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the grounds and work areas.
- Supporting the efficient use of resources.
- Assisting with the movement of equipment and materials, their installation around the site, and carrying out any tasks deemed necessary to the smooth running of the site.
- Work at Sports Field sites.
- Carrying out such other similar and related duties as may be required by Head Groundsman, Groundsman or senior staff.

**Desired Qualifications**:
- GCSE’s, or equivalents in maths and English are desired but not essential

**Training**:
- Full training to be provided by the employer a at the place of employment.
- The applicant will be working towards and gain a Level 2 Sports Turf Operative Apprenticeship Standard.
- The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
- The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship.
**Job Type**: Apprenticeship
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
Pay: £15,874.71-£21,000.00 per year
