We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Maintenance Multi Skilled Electrician.

You’ll play an important role in carrying out day-to-day, repairs, void works, cyclical and planned maintenance activities. You will provide support in analysing and improving the processes, and work to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency. You’llsupport the maintenance team in providing a quality maintenance service and an excellent customer service for our client’s customers.

**These are some of the things you will be responsible for in your role**:

- Perform all day-to-day maintenance activities as required.
- Plan/prepare the layout of electrical rewiring as required, diagnose electrical problems and conduct general electrical maintenance.
- Inspect, test, repair, install, and modify electrical components and systems as required.
- Going to selected retailors and obtaining the materials you require for the works.
- Where possible a company van may be provided to you for work purposes only.
- Work unsupervised in occupied/unoccupied premises, alone or with maintenance team or external contractors, depending upon the nature of works required.
- Communicate with maintenance team, customers and external contractors and advising on repair options and fault diagnosis.
- Install kitchens and bathrooms including material preparation and handling.
- Responsible for the maintenance of all tools/equipment and company vehicle.
- Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Attend emergency situations outside normal working hours, if necessary.
- Ensure at the end of each day you contact the maintenance team to update.
- Be responsible for works that you have undertaken in Voids and other properties.
- Update knowledge by participating in training opportunities as required by the business.
- Understand and follow all policies and procedures always, including Health and Safety, Fairness and Lone Working.
- Take responsibility for undertaking the appropriate level of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check every 3 years, updating your manager of any changes in your status.

You may be asked to achieve additional objectives and tasks to respond to the needs of the developing service, as part of your own personal development or as the role evolves.

**Qualifications/certificates**
- Educated to ‘O’ Level/GCSE standard in English and Mathematics or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2, Advanced Construction Award or similar accreditation in building maintenance work e.g. joinery/carpentry, gas or plumbing
- You must be a qualified Electrician with the ability to undertake EICR's if required. You must have Level 3 Electrical Installations Diploma (2365) as a minimum
- HNC/HND Building or equivalent
- Level 3 Electrical Installations Diploma (2365) through an apprenticeship

**Knowledge/ Experience**
- Knowledge of Building Regulations or other statutory authority regulations.
- Experience of working as a multi-skilled tradesperson with experience in Plumbing, carpentry/joinery patch repair, painting, tiling, plastering repairs, light groundworks such as installing fence panels, flooring repairs, drylining, ironmongery repairsetc.
- Experience in installing Kitchen & bathroom fittings
- Diagnosing damp and recommending repairs
- Experience of working in a social housing environment
- Any other secondary skills

**Skills**
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic IT skills, excel and word
- Full driving licence
