**Blacksmith Tutor - Freeman College**

**24 hours per week, 37 weeks per year**

**Grade MS1: MS4, Actual Salary: £12,102 - £17,891 pro rata**

**FTE: £24,717 - £36,538 **dependent on age, and experience

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who is enthusiastic, committed and motivated to promote and ensure the safety, care, well-being, learning and development of the students, to enable their growth in confidence and social and practical skills.

Freeman College, based in Sheffield City Centre is an independent specialist college and part of the Ruskin Mill Trust, educating young people aged 16-25 years old.

**The key duties in this role will include**:

- Delivering a forge work curriculum that will cover the phases of human material development (Deliver Iron age forge work through to ‘modern’ engines)
- Teaching students with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.
- Completion of relevant paperwork as required.
- To support College safeguarding procedures by reporting quickly and effectively any disclosures to the College Safeguarding Team.

**To undertake this position successfully you will have**:

- Experience of Blacksmithing and teaching/training
- A teaching qualification or working towards a relevant teaching qualification.
- Knowledge of specialist education
- Experience of working with learners with learning difficulties and/ or learning disabilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills

**There will be a requirement to undertake the internal 2-year Pedagogical Potential of Craft Course**
