On behalf of our client, a highly successful Manufacturer in the Oldham area, we are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Coordinator.

Reporting to the Head of Procurement the purpose of the role will be to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, working directly with planning, sales and operations to met and exceed customer expectations. To ensure the purchase of indirect materials and services are achieved to meet the needs of the operations requirements.

Key Duties:

- To manage the daily raw and indirect material procurement activities
- Ensure all systems are updated appropriately
- Expedite orders in line with the production plan to meet customer expectations
- Work with the planner to identify risk to production and highlight to seniors
- Attend and update the status in the daily production and planning meetings
- To gain best pricing and hedge material based on marketplace surveillance
- To ensure stock levels at an appropriate level
- Minimise and material outages by sourcing alternatives
- Work cost saving projects
- Support HOD in general procurement activities
- Ensure self and team are working to company H&S policy requirements

Skills and Experience required:

- Procurement experience, within a fast paced, agile manufacturing environment
- A good understanding of MRP is required and JIT delivery profiling
- Ability to liaise with suppliers of all sizes
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Negotiation skills an adaptive thinking
- Tenacious aptitute
- Excellent team player
- Proficient with Sage, MS Office and especially Excel.

Hours of work:

- Salary between £28k and £35k depending upon experience
- 25 days holiday + statutory

Working hours are Mon-Thur - 08:45 - 17:00, Fri - 08:45 - 15:00.
