Metal Grinder

My client a well-established engineering company based in Darwen is looking for a Metal Grinder (drilling and cutting down metal). The working hours are days Monday-Friday.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate and maintain grinding machines to grind surfaces of metal objects
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine grinding requirements
- Set up and adjust grinding machines according to specifications
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
- Use hand tools and measuring instruments to perform precision grinding operations
- Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth production flow
- Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in operating grinding machines is preferred
- Knowledge of basic mathematics for measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes
- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Ability to weld, assemble, and fabricate metal components
- Mechanical knowledge of machine operations and tooling

**Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and precision in work
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with grinding machines
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects as required

**Job Type**:Full-time

**Salary**: From £11.00 per hour
