We're always challenging ourselves to think creatively and innovate and our next phase of growth will focus increasingly on opening up international markets, as well as domestic expansion and of course our growing Menswear range.

Working within the Menswear Garment Technology team you’ll be delivering a range of Seasalt products ensuring design integrity, quality, fit, performance, safety and consistency in line with departmental strategy to achieve agreed sales and profit target.

As a key member of the Technical team, you’ll work with Buying, Design, Marketing, Retail, Wholesale and QC to ensure successful product, adhering strictly to the Buying Calendar and Critical Path. Ensuring company business systems are understood and utilised to their maximum; specifically, PLM for tech packs, Fabric and Garment Testing using Interlink, Pyramid and Power BI for returns data.

The role is a full-time, permanent position based at our Head Office in Falmouth. In our blended approach to hybrid working, we expect our people to work a minimum of 40% of their week from a Seasalt Office in Cornwall, the remaining 60% of the time will be from home (or your chosen location - however, you must be based in the UK).

**You'll help us by**:
Being responsible for your own product group(s) following garments from design hand over, through sample development, to production ex-factory, and delivery into our DC in line with agreed range plan, target price and Critical Path. This includes:

- Creating product specs for each product and grading product specs using established grade rules.
- Leading fit sessions with designer and buyer (with training) to perfect fit on own categories with support when required.
- Working with buying and design to allocate correct sustainability credentials for each style each season. Select and add care label information, symbols and wording for each product
- Maintaining ongoing risk assessment of products through development phase to maintain quality, function and performance. Updating product specs from concept to production stage as required.
- Collating and assessing product and fabric test reports from suppliers with support when required. Support suppliers to achieve best production practice and product quality with support when required. Communicating all product requirements to suppliers in a clear and consistent manner becoming a key supplier liaison in partnership with buying and design.
- Approval of development and pre-production samples and approval to ship.
- Advise approval/ comments on final in-house quality control checks where necessary.
- Update PLM system for all stages of development.
- Work with QC/QA and wider team to ensure Seasalt standards are met in the case of QC failure.
- Attend supplier/factory visits as required, complete quality and production audits, where necessary. Encourage supplier’s ownership of quality through participating in supplier meetings.
- Work in partnership with suppliers to ensure best quality and ease of production, risk assessing product to eliminate any issues that could cause quality or performance issues.
- Using relevant business systems/ data to inform product changes and updates, receiving and reacting to leadership product updates as necessary.
- Keep abreast of customer reviews and returns and proposing improvements/ changes where necessary to improve customer satisfaction and reduce returns rates.
- Attend and or receive feedback from product review meetings (e.g. lessons learnt/ sketch and swatch/ seasonal brief/range response/ sign off/ Trade) and react accordingly with support when required.
- Support and share information with wider team in cases where others can benefit to improve their own knowledge or product areas.

**The skills you'll be sharing with the team**:

- Knowledge in garment construction and pattern cutting.
- Industry based experience or an equivalent level.
- Experience in product fitting and grading and product spec updates.
- Knowledge of test report approvals.
- Basic knowledge of relevant production process and practices.
- Experience in communication with overseas suppliers.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Some experience of product development tools/ PLM.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Team worker/people person and flexible/adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks and is self-motivated.
