Laboratory Assistant

**What we’re looking for**:
We currently have an opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to join our busy Chemical department based in Holywell. The hours of work will be 45 hours per week on days initially, with the potential to move onto a rotating shift pattern in the future.

**What will you be doing?**
- Compliance to test methods, standards and sampling frequencies as defined by plant and laboratory procedures
- Monitor stocks & material use
- Liaise with material suppliers and order material accordingly
- Preparation of raw materials for production
- Equipment cleaning, maintenance, and assistance in calibration
- Completion of all necessary documentation
- Participation in defect investigations with Chemical Engineer
- Involvement in continuous improvement initiatives
- Housekeeping of Lab and Chemical areas
- Adhering to all chemical procedures relating to: Manufacture of suspension; Movement and handling chemicals; Incoming chemical quality control; Blending; Finished product testing

**Skills that will help you in the role**:

- Forklift Truck driving essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills (Experience with SAP is an advantage)
- Problem solving ability and data interpretation skills
- Flexible and good organisational skills
- Strict adherence to Health & Safety protocols
- Previous experience in a working lab environment is an advantage
