We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre, The Chantry, Ipswich.

About us:
The Chantry is set in a beautiful grade 2 listed building in Chantry Park, Ipswich. The Chantry is a Sue Ryder specialist neurological care centre based in Ipswich, caring for people aged 18 and over who have life-changing conditions affecting the brain and nervous system. We are here for people with degenerative conditions which get worse over time - such as motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s - as well as those with acquired conditions resulting from a brain or spinal injury or stroke. At The Chantry, we provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs.

About the Role:
Main duties include:

- Develop, plan and implement an internal and external maintenance and decorating schedule, providing minimum disruption to the day-to-day running of the Centre.
- Responsible to implement a system for dealing with day-to-day repairs.
- To ensure compliance with fire regulations and using of fire equipment and environmental standards.
- To record all information as required by Sue Ryder policies and procedures.
- To attend and contribute to internal Quality Improvement Groups as required.
- To audit compliance with any requirements and recommendations of Care Standards inspections and audit all programmes of inspection.
- To organise and arrange the work of the estates team. Managing the team in respect of performance monitoring, appraisal and motivation. To report any unmet training needs in the use of equipment or processes.
- To ensure effective communication with other departments in the Centre and the Estates Management department.
- Responsible to ensure the provision of all relevant supplies within available resources.
- Take responsibility to contribute to and respond to external inspections.

About you:
Are you a proactive person with a wide range of skills who could help maintain The Chantry?

Ideally you will have IOSH Certificate for Risk Management or willing to work towards achieving this within the first year of employment.

A valid driving license is required for this role. A Minibus driving training certificate would be advantageous or willingness to undertake the training would be required. You will also have:

- Knowledge of Health and Safety, COSHH and other relevant legislation
- Proven ability to work as part of a team and supervise others
- Ability to work closely with service users and communicate effectively with them
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Able to work within policies and procedures
- Ability to produce risk assessments as required for activities within the role
- Skilled in a range of minor maintenance procedures
- Demonstrable planning skills
- Competent IT skills
