**THE ROLE**

We have an opportunity for an Asset Engineer within the Network Asset Management team, reporting to the Distribution Asset Manager South.

You will be part of a team monitoring and reviewing the performance of distribution gas assets to ensure delivery of safe network infrastructure across Southern and will interact with a wide spectrum of internal and external teams on a regular basis.

The role will require travel to sites and office locations across the Southern Gas Networks area.

**Key responsibilities will include: -**
- Involvement in the management of a range of engineering assets across the department and under instruction of the Senior Asset Engineer.
- Preparation of engineering project scopes and coordinating delivery of project work in conjunction with other teams in SGN.
- Interact with Operations, Network Planning, Legal, Stakeholder Engagement, Easement team and Customer Service within the business on a regular basis.
- Administration of a range of systems associated with asset management and reporting regularly on key engineering aspects of the system and system performance/operation.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**
- Technical knowledge on the operation of the gas network is essential, along with knowledge/experience of Industry Codes, Regulations and Legislation
- You will have experience of gas distribution systems in the regulated gas networks and specifically experience and knowledge of the engineering and compliance aspects associated with these assets. The role will require a strong background in complianceand condition assessment of key assets and working in conjunction with SGN Network colleagues and SGN Operational colleagues and a wide range of other stakeholders.
- With a positive and flexible approach to work, you will be highly motivated with good organisational, diagnostic and problem-solving skills. In addition, you need to be an effective communicator at all levels within and beyond your own team. You must bewilling to travel within the UK on a regular basis working in both office and field environments.
- A driving license is essential
