Site Chief Financial Officer

The Site Chief Financial Officer (SCFO) will support the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) and Site Executive Team in developing and delivering the Group strategy with a focus on improving financial efficiency and performance across St Georges Hospitals (SGH). The post holder will have corporate responsibility for the following SGH Finance teams: Financial Strategy and Planning, Financial Management, Financial Control Income and Coding.
Application closing date is midnight on Tuesday 5th April with the Panel Interview on week commencing 24th April.
The post holder will provide day-to-day leadership to the SGH finance team and will be responsible to the GCFO for delivery of financial support, challenge, analysis and advice to the SGH site and corporate management teams. The post holder will be expected to present financial and business information to large groups, including clinical and non-clinical colleagues as well as groups outside of the Trust.
The post holder will be a key member of the SGH site leadership and work closely with the site Managing Director to take forward the development of Finance Business Partnering and to ensure that it underpins clinical and corporate objectives and provides the site with the financial information and support needed to make informed decisions about services.
The post holder is expected to work as part of a cohesive finance team that operates to the highest professional standards and to represent the GCFO within the Trust and site in all finance related matters.
The post holder will also be expected to support and engage in Group-wide programmes of work to deliver benefits across the Group as directed by the GCFO, and when necessary, to take lead responsibility for Group and Trust-based issues outside of their immediate sphere of responsibility. This will include working with the Epsom & St Helier University Hospital Site CFO to increase the alignment of the two finance functions to identify synergies and opportunities for common ways of working.

St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust serves a population of 1.3 million across southwest London. A large number of services, such as cardiothoracic medicine and surgery, neurosciences and renal transplantation, also cover significant populations from Surrey and Sussex, totalling around 3.5 million people.
