**Job Details**

This post will add to a small team of Welfare Support Assistants, working across a designated area, online, face to face and within community job clubs. The post supports tackling poverty and crisis prevention with close links to a number of services and organisations working in the community.

The purpose of the post is to promote an integrated response to addressing issues presented by clients accessing welfare support services. A key priority is to provide information, advice and advocacy for people to access their full benefit entitlements and support progress into work.

The team work collaboratively with a number of partners, helping guide and signpost clients to various support services both internally and within external or third sector organisations.

The role is primarily delivered within the community through direct engagement with clients in a range of settings including community group drop-in sessions, welfare support hubs, community job clubs and outreach delivery points.

**The Person**

Educated to SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent or National Certificate in Advice and Guidance, Customer Care, Administration, or equivalent area.

You should have an understanding of poverty, exclusion issues and barriers to the labour market, demonstrating strong communication skills, which can be adapted to meet client needs.

You will have the ability to provide regular and effective service, work to deadlines and be able to travel throughout Fife.

Supporting clients in meeting their DWP digital obligations and digital inclusivity, you will require strong IT skills and the ability to use various computer programmes and the internet.

You should have experience of working in a customer service or public facing environment, which involved providing information and advice.

**Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme Enhanced Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland.**
