To manage the school’s finances in an efficient and timely manner including management of the budget. To support the headteacher with commissioning and managing services

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**

Management of school’s finances, including external funding.

Forward budget planning, preparation of annual forecasts & budgets, in consultation with Headteacher.

Preparing financial reports as required by the Headteacher, Governing Body, attending meetings of Governing Body as required, to present reports on financial matters.

Monitoring of all income and expenditure relating to internal budgets: keeping budget holders informed of their balances and committed expenditure with a view to best value.

Preparation of reconciliation reports, VAT returns and any other financial return required either statutorily or by the Authority.

To be responsible for the management of all staff personnel records and to oversee work with the school’s personnel and payroll providers.

To support the Headteacher in managing the relationship and contracts with all external providers of goods and services.

To prepare end of year accounts and arrange annual audit for the School Fund.

To assist with the development of school financial policies and procedures (e.g Lettings Policy) in line with LA requirements.

Collating of information and submission of documentation relating to bids for external funding.

To maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school-related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.

It is desirable that applicants will have substantial administrative experience with two to three years within an educational environment and have full working knowledge of policies and practices of schools.

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS INCLUDE**:

- ICT in particular Microsoft Office and Excel
- Excellent numeracy / literacy skills.
- Ability to plan and develop systems.
- English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent.
- Able to relate well with children and adults.

- The management reporting line for this role is ultimately through Hampshire County Council Children’s Services Director/Assistant Director and managers who take operational responsibility for children’s services._
