Yard Person

**_Job purpose: _**

Working within the Transport team the Yard Person will assist in the day to day running of the transport hub.

Key responsibilities: _**
- Ensure daily cleaning of Transport hub yard and general maintenance of the site
- Spillages are reported to the Transport Manager and cleaned as required
- Washing of lorries and internal/ external of trailers
- Taking Lorries from yard to PSV/ Service centre
- Delivering and collection of parts, goods and vehicles
- Completing rigid lorry/ meal transport duties when required
- Loading/ offloading of trailers
- Operate forklift in a safe manner to ensure that they are maintained in a good working order. Report issues any issues to your manager
- All work activities are carried out in line with work instructions and operating procedures
- Ensure compliance with all company policies including hygiene, bio-security, Health & Safety and environmental policies.

Job requirement:

Confident in driving a variety of vehicles from small commercial vehicles to HGV (Class 1)

Full Clean Driving licence & a valid HGV Class 1 licence and full CPC's

Positive can-do attitude is essential along with the ability to work to a high standard without supervision.

Driven, enthusiastic, competent individual with excellent eye for detail.

Ability to work as part of a team

Experience in working within a fast pace environment

Flexibility and willingness to learn

Basic English and maths

Previous experience in operating a forklift would be an advantage
