Post-doctoral research associate in ocean biochemistry

The Department of Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge, is seeking a Post-doctoral research associate (PDRA) in ocean biochemistry for an initial period of 1 year with the potential for extension beyond that upon the availability of funds and mutual agreement. The position is focused on studying the coupled physical and biochemical processes at the heart of the carbon cycle. The project will employ a combination of lower-complexity global climate models and high-resolution regional models to study regional dynamics in the Southern Ocean. The goals are I) to investigate how climate change challenges marine ecosystems and II) what actions need to be taken in the near future to adapt to and mitigate against the challenges posed by climate change insofar as ocean biochemistry is concerned. The project will be in collaboration with the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics in Cambridge (and the Centre for Climate Repair within) and the University of California San Diego.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.

The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
