Pharmacy Counter/dispensing Assistant

Main responsibilities will be
- First port of call for customers/patients
- Issuing stock items and prepared prescriptions
- Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements
- Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the Counter with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage
- Cleaning work surfaces and shelving on a regular basis and ensuring that the shop kept clean and tidy.
- Taking orders for repeats and dealing with queries from surgeries and patients
- Ordering counter and shop lines from various wholesalers.
- Handling prescription money and operating/balancing the till.
- Dispensing when required

Training will be provided in the safe sale of medicines and the provision of further pharmacy services such as blood pressure monitoring, smoking cessation, healthy living and blood testing. There will be an opportunity for further development within the pharmacy.

Expected hours: 24 per week
