**Department & Location: Head office Vulcan way, Coalville**

**Reporting To: Quality Manager**

**Salary: £15.00 per hour**

**Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:30 - 16:00**

**Main Purpose of the Role**:
As our Quality inspector you will ensure CMS Cepcor products meet all quality standards before they go to market. Your duties will include inspecting the products, ensuring drawing specifications are met and certifying the product meets industry standards. You will identify and document non-conforming products/processes, ensuring prompt quarantine and disposition of goods, and collaborate with department leads to develop corrective actions and controls to prevent recurrence.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Verification of manufactured and supplied products, to ensure that they are meeting the agreed specifications, such as carrying out measurement, visual inspections etc.
- Inspection and evaluation of worn components for servicing & refurbishment.
- Completion of in-process inspection to aid with machining on CNC machines.
- Use of manual measurement equipment, as well as portable CMM probing & scanning equipment.
- Evaluation and selection of the best method of inspection, including use of Gauge R&R studies, taking into consideration physical limitations and accuracy required.
- Produce clear and thorough reports by analysing the collection of inspection data and summarizing key issues of concern.
- Ensuring that Quality standards are maintained throughout the business, through several means, such as conducting spot-checks and creating quality specifications.
- Identification, investigation, and documentation of non-conformances, including root cause analysis and proposal of corrective actions.
- Assisting with assembly of large components through measurement of critical dimensions.
- Maintaining inspection equipment including their calibration status.
- Preparation of parts ready for inspection (cleaning) and preservation of parts post-inspection.
- Handling and turning of heavy goods by use of overhead crane and forklift.
- Liaising and having clear communication with departments regarding quality issues/work.
- Analyze drawings and technical data/manuals to determine critical areas of interest or dimensions.
- Work independently and as a team to ensure the completion of investigations/inspection to department deadlines without compromising quality

**Potential future responsibilities**:

- Internal auditing to ISO 9001:2015
- Supplier quality auditing (UK & overseas)

**Experience essential**:

- Experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment
- Literate with Excel, Word, and Outlook

**Experience desired**:

- Experience using portable CMM arm (Faro arm, Romer arm etc)
- Experience of PolyWorks software
- Experience using manual measuring equipment/instruments such as micrometers/ Vernier’s / slip gauges / clocks.
- MPI Magnetic particle inspection experience
