**Job summary**:
Defence Intelligence Training Group (DITG) is in the early phases of establishing a new Intelligence Support to Target and Effects (ISTE) training department to deliver newly designed courses.

The Target Systems Analysis (TSA) is the first of three courses that will sit under the ISTE training department. The TSA training team is part of a growing ISTE training department and will eventually consist of a mixture of 8 civilian and military trainers. This will enable DITG to deliver the full criteria of ISTE Training: TSA, Target Production & Documentation (TDP), and Target Audience Analysis (TAA) to Defence Intelligence community and its single Service counterparts. Furthermore, the ISTE training department will form the framework for the new Intelligence & ISR College under DITG’s future target operating model.

This TSA post is principally a training delivery post which will deliver the TSA training to the Intelligence Support to Target and Effects targeting community and it's single Service counterparts. The TSA training will be supported by an additional trainer, once recruited.

The job holder will also support the development and continuous improvement of TSA training to ensure the course meets current and future requirements.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:

- Lead and innovate TSA courses in line with operational requirements.
- Lead in the delivery TSA courses (including planning and preparation) for DITG iaw Statement of Training Task (SOTT), Business Management Systems (BMS), and Joint Service Publications (JSP) 822 - Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT), 900 - UK Full spectrum Targeting Policy).
- Pre-course preparation and post-course administrative tasks in accordance with Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT)/DITG policies.
- ISTE courses management. Reviewing the development and content of the taught programme of study on a regular basis, including the production of any formal review documentation in line with Defence and accrediting organisations procedures.
- Represent the faculty at meetings as required - e.g. Defence Targeting Enterprise(DTE) Training Working Groups and Steering Groups.
- Understand and foster the inclusive Quad-Service ethos of ISTE and DITG.
- Exact Duty of Care for staff and trainees in accordance with DITG Commander Supervisory Care Directive (SCD), ISTE Mgmt Plan, DITG Mgmt Plan, DITG Management of the Training System, JSP 833 - Minor Admin Action, DITG and RAF Guide for Service Schools training.

**Person specification**:
Essential
- Subject matter knowledge and experience in both Target Systems Analysis (TSA) and in the Intelligence Assessment profession (or Targeting).
- Leadership skills.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Desirable
- Previous postings or experience of working in the DI ISTE environment or single Service equivalent.
- Experience as a Defence Trainer or Level 3 in Training and Education equivalent.
- Experience of working within a military training environment.
- Understanding of the DSAT processes.
