**Job Purpose**

The NPD Technologist will be responsible for supporting in the development of new products as requested by management or customers.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Creating product formulations based on customer briefs.
- Project management and maintenance for customer accounts with Key Account Manager support.
- Proactive, professional and confident communications with our customers.
- Covering for the NPD Manager when required.
- Overseeing and supporting the scale up of products from the 60kg trial vessel to full scale production.
- Providing support to the factory on product launches and improvement initiatives.
- Production of lab samples on occasion for high profile products.
- Testing of kitchen samples in order to keep good records
- Accurate record keeping, ensuring full traceability of process.
- Following strict food safety, health and safety and quality control practices within the scope of the above activities.
- Working well with all members of the site team but the Technical, Production and Quality teams; with a priority on clear and proactive communications and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Assisting the creative evolution of product from initial concept to delivered goods in line with the market trends and demands in collaboration with the Marketing Department
- Cleaning and maintenance of the NPD area and kitchen
- Ensuring stock ingredients are replenished like, stock rotations, ordering ingredients from suppliers

**Education and Experience**
- **Have a qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or Product Development**:

- Have prior experience within food manufacturing or another relevant production environment/industry
- Be methodical and rigorous and work with a high attention to detail
- Be a team player who can also work well cross-functionally
- Have a Basic Food Hygiene certificate or can demonstrate awareness of food safety procedures
- Be a confident user of computers and technology
- **Be a natural leader and have the desire to progress within the industry**

**Work Environment**

While performing the duties of this job, the role holder is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The role holder will occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
