We are working in close collaboration with a Local Authority in **Enfield **to facilitate the appointment of a Housing Coordinator. This is a pivotal role aimed at preventing homelessness, providing quality housing options, and delivering essential advice to ensure compliance with statutory functions.

**Purpose of the Role**:
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Effectively utilize prevention tools to prevent homelessness, employing schemes and representations where necessary.
- Process housing and homelessness approaches accurately and within agreed timescales, adhering to policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Conduct home visits as needed to confirm homelessness, inspect housing standards, and verify household circumstances.
- Liaise with the Market Management Team to secure accommodation and recommend access to the Council's rent deposit scheme.
- Interpret and explain complex legal matters related to tenancy agreements, possession proceedings, harassment, eviction, disrepair, and tenancy sustainment.
- Collaborate with Medical Assessment Officers for comprehensive medical assessments of homeless households.
- Provide clear and accurate responses to legal challenges, inquiries, complaints, and complex correspondence.
- Work in partnership with internal and external organizations for referrals to specialist initiatives.
- Identify and liaise with other agencies regarding special needs cases.
- Possess a deep understanding of welfare benefit entitlements, including housing benefit regulations.
- Collaborate with Estate management for Estate regeneration initiatives.
- Comply with regulations governing referrals, cautions, reviews, and appeals.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.
- Ensure compliance with the Council's Policies and Procedures.

**Skills, Experience, Knowledge & Abilities**:

- **Essential**:_
- Proficient in spoken English with excellent communication skills.
- Experience in effectively preventing homelessness.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring effective planning and communication.
- Front-line contact experience with the public, delivering complex information tactfully.
- Ability to handle complex, difficult, or contentious inquiries or complaints.
- Team player with experience working independently and collaboratively.
- Effective negotiation skills and the ability to work in partnership with other departments and external agencies.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues effectively.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with IT databases.

**Salary**: £21.50 per hour
