First Response Team
Join our Helm Care First Response Team we are urgently seeking Experienced Children Residential Support Workers to cover various daily shifts 7 days a week,
Monday - Sunday
- 7am - 7.30pm
7pm - 7.30am
We have a number of exciting career opportunities available for Children’s Residential Support Worker within our homes in the Lancashire area. You will work as part of a team providing quality residential childcare services for children within a safe and secure environment.
You will be working for a dynamic, professional and innovative company, we strive for service excellence by investing in our people to ensure that we are making a positive difference to the future of the children and young people we care for.
When working within a residential children’s home you’ll be providing support for the young people in all aspects of their care. You’ll be expected to be a positive role model for the young people, daily running of the site as well as well as 1-1 work with a young person. You will be expected to engage with the children and young people and be pro-active, and always work to the children’s homes standards.
You will be working with children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a residential children's home, experience working in a social / youth or care setting is desirable. Ability to verbally and physically respond appropriately to young people's presenting needs, who may display challenging behaviours, be fit and well to do so safely, be emotionally resilient, be a positive person who is able to recognise children’s success and achievements no matter how small these may seem
**About the job**:
You will be key in helping the young people. This is a challenging role, where no 2 days are the same, but the rewards are incomparable to any other job. You will be working in an environment where the little things that you do every day could have life-changing results on the young people in our care.
**Entry Requirements**:
- Must Have DBS Update Service
- NVQ Level 3 in Residential in children & young people or equivalent or working towards it
- Subject to pre-employment check
- A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
- Life skills
- Be caring, compassionate, understanding and show patience.
- Be a team player, flexible, honest and reliable.
- Have a good sense of humour and not take things personally.
- Be confident and resilient.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with children/young people in a Residential Childcare setting for a minimum 6 months
- Computer literacy
- A driving license
