**Overview**
My client based in Bury St Edmunds is seeking an experienced Transport Shift Manager ideally with CPC qualification and previous O Licence holder to act as a 'number 2' to the Transport Operations Manager.
The role will be to coordinate and support in the running of safe and efficient operation, working within clear guidelines to help achieve the operational standards and defined outcomes during shift.
Responsible for the execution of transport plans ensuring transport and network SLA's/KPI's are achieved. Deputise for the Transport Operations Manager when required. Provide coaching / performance manage FLM's, Operators and Drivers as appropriate. Demonstrate21st engagement and management. The Shift Manager is a key stakeholder in Customer Engagement, Health & Safety and Legal Compliance."

**Responsibilities**:
Have clear understanding of Objectives and KPI's applicable to your role and your team
- Safe, legal and efficient execution of transport operations during a duty shift to network SLA's/KPI's
Review and amend where appropriate daily plans

- Collate all feedback against plan in the daily operations log for use in plan/do/review calls
Daily operations issue management and resolution for transport and with local warehouse
Management of short term driver absence and relocation of work

Responsible for full and effective daily brief/debrief for agency and sub-contractor drivers
Responsible for driver and fleet legal compliance during shift in accordance
Ensuring all drivers are appropriately trained and familarised with both operations and equipment
Ensuring and sampling pre-shift checks (yard checks) and the defect process
Ensuring fleet management (OPS) processes are adhered to

- Accident and breakdown management
- Ownership and accountability for driver induction, training and qualification are up to date for drivers reports
Support of transport and network project and initiatives
Manage disciplinary and grievance in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures
