This is a temporary 6 week contract working 15 hours per week. Flexible on day's and hours to suit the individual.

**Record Keeping**:

- To ensure accurate personnel records are kept, in both paper and electronic format, and to update records on an ongoing basis, as information is received.
- To assist in recording and tracking of key data regarding sickness absence, annual leave, staff turnover etc.
- The HR Adviser may have a special focus on one or more areas of record keeping, e.g. absence management.
- To assist the HR Manager in preparing reports based on HR data as required.
- To ensure that confidential information is kept securely and in line with the GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018 and all other relevant legislation.

**Payroll and Pensions**:

- To assist with admin requirements of pension schemes and payroll.

**HR Practices**:

- To administer recruitment and selection exercises for staff, ensuring efficient, legally compliant and fair standards are applied when recruiting, in accordance with company policy.
- To work with the Workforce Development Officer to ensure appropriate recruitment and selection, placement and pre-appointment check processes are in place for student placements.
- To prepare and issue approved staff job offers and contracts, and administer pre and post-employment checks for all members of the workforce, acting as an officer for DBS checks.
- To act as a member of the selection panel for any appointment as required.
- To administer procedures for staff and volunteer changes and leavers of the organisation, including providing references for current and former staff and volunteers, in accordance with company policy.
- To assist with admin requirements for schemes and benefits such as flexible working, maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave and pay, and healthy workforce initiatives.
- To oversee and track disciplinary, capability and grievance cases, as well as participating in TUPE transfers, redundancy situations and other situations concerning compliance with employment law, working with and supporting line managers, and acting as an HR representative at meetings and hearings, as required.
- To oversee and track cases involving volunteer or student conduct, capability or complaints, working with line managers to resolve issues.
- To assist in the investigation of formal and informal complaints or incidents involving members of the workforce.
- To provide advice to line managers, staff and students on HR policies and practices, and rights and responsibilities at work.
- To work with the Head of Workforce Development and Workforce Development Officer in delivery and administration of training and development programmes for staff and students.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 weeks
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: £25,590.00-£32,316.00 per year

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- equality and diversity issues in the workplace: 1 year (preferred)
- knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice: 1 year (preferred)
- Data Protection legislation: 1 year (preferred)
- Maintaining record-keeping systems: 1 year (preferred)
- Data processing and report writing: 1 year (preferred)
- Working with confidential records: 1 year (preferred)
- Working with volunteers from an HR perspective: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Level 5 CIPD-accredited qualification in Human Resources. (required)
