Digital Product Designer

A growing tech company in Edinburgh is looking for a Digital Product Designer to join the team. The company have grown a lot over the last few years through on-boarding lots of new clients, as well as investment into the business.
They work with a range of well-known global brands and have spent the last year or so re-designing and re-architecting their SaaS platform. They're about to on-board a new client which will triple the number of users using the platform, so it's a great time to be joining.
With this in mind, the Design Lead really wants to be able to focus on the strategic direction of the design department, as well as user research to ensure that their new customer is being heard loud and clear. They expect that with this new client, there's going to have to be a lot of rapid iterations and customisations needed, so think it's the right time to bring in their 2nd Designer.
As mentioned, the Design Lead wants to focus more on strategy and UX, so they're looking to bring in a Product Designer that is stronger on the Visual/UI Design side of things. They want someone that will be comfortable taking on these iterations and customisations themselves, if the Design Lead is busy doing other things - it'd also help if you have experience of or are comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, as this is what it'll be like. Strong skills in Typography and/or Iconography would be a big bonus too.
Ideally, they'd still like to find someone that has knowledge of UX and understands the importance of User Research - you don't need to know how to conduct every type of research but understanding why it's important and utilising it for your creative work will be essential for the role. There's lots of room for personal development in the role as the Design Lead eventually wants to get to a point where you can lead on some projects which makes it a very attractive role.
They'd like to find someone that has at least some commercial experience behind them and are open to taking someone on at either junior or mid-level, obviously depending on your experience.
The company is based in Edinburgh and are very flexible around working - they'd ideally like for you to be coming into the office once or twice per week, but this isn't strict. Salary is up to £40,000 and they have extra benefits on top of this as well.
