**Overview**
**Global Liquidity Operations - Treasury Clerk**
Global Liquidity Operations (GLO) is part of the wider Operations for Payments, Treasury Services, Issuer Services and Global Markets (OPTISM) Group and is a dynamic, multi-functional team. GLO are responsible for managing the overall funding positions of theCompany's various legal entities in a wide range of global currencies as part of a "follow the sun" model. The team operate in a time sensitive, and deadline driven environment in which attention to detail, accuracy and timely escalation are key. GLO manageshort-term liquidity by forecasting daily cash requirements and end of day positions, allowing funding decisions to be made. They interact with other Operations teams, Corporate Treasury, Finance and a network of external sub-custodian and cash correspondentbanks to facilitate effective and efficient settlement. The Manchester Team are also responsible for managing the Company's direct connection to the CHAPS network for direct GBP clearing as well as the associated governance, as well as being the central pointof contact for Incident Management and system health monitoring.
**Key responsibilities include**:

- Provide liquidity forecasts to Treasury based on intraday deadlines
- Process liquidity transfers to ensure adequate liquidity is in place to execute client payments
- Minimise overdrafts and failed payments via active balance management
- Investigate fluctuations in balances to understand trends in the local markets in which BNYM operate
- Monitor direct GBP clearing via BNYM's connection to the CHAPS network
- Communicate closely with Finance and Corporate Treasury to ensure comprehensive understanding of overnight balances and exposures
- Help maintain a robust control environment
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement **Education/Experience**:

- 1-2 years of experience within Operations / Banking
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to think laterally to resolve issues
- Detail driven and results oriented
- Able to work in time sensitive and pressured environment
- Self-driven and proactive
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, and to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Risk focused
