Bangor, United Kingdom Swansea Bay University Health Board Full time

Working as part of the clinical team, the Retrieval and Transfer Practitioner (RTP) will provide support, care and necessary clinical interventions to patients in both the hospital and transfer environment, using appropriate skills and equipment safely and within appropriate level of training, competency and scope of practice.

This position combines a role within a patient-facing clinical transfer team, with some time spent working independently from the clinical team in triaging, co-ordinating and scheduling transfer requests. Access to an on-call 'top cover' consultant for clinical advice is available for both aspects of the role, which is also supported by bespoke scheduling software.

RTPs are registered practitioners who have undergone additional post registration education and clinical development to assess and manage critically ill patients with specific or specialised care needs throughout the transfer and retrieval phase of their care. The RTP has extensive experience of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised person-centred care for adult patients in the critical care unit setting.
