A recent re-structuring exercise at our Royal Cornwall Hospital site in Truro has highlighted the need for a linen assistant.

There may be an opportunity to be flexible around start and finish times.

To assist in the provision and maintenance of a high quality, specialised linen service by providing clean deliveries/top-up and associated duties to both ward and departmental areas within the Trust. This is a key post vital to maintaining the Trusts hygiene and control of infection guidelines

**General duties will include**:
Receipt of linen stock.

Storage of linen stock.

Delivery of linen stock.

Uniform support.

On-site laundry operation.

Communication

To ensure that the Department’s philosophy of quality care and customer service is reflected in practice.

To assist in the provision and maintenance of a high quality, hygienic and customer responsive service by providing general linen service duties for the Linen Department which will include:
Receipt of daily bulk delivery of clean linen.

Checking and monitoring of quality finish.

The implementation of a ward/department linen top up service.

The transportation of linen throughout the site.

To supplement any other service required as needed within Facilities.

To maintain a catalogue of lost property on a 6 weekly basis

To maintain a professional and hygienic appearance.

It is the responsibility of the postholder to contribute positively to the attainment of KPI targets set within the Department.

To ensure that linen top-up level guidelines are followed at all times.

To ensure all linen is receipted correctly and appropriate action taken should there be shortfall.

To sort and re-distribute clean linen to all wards and departments using a top-up system, ensuring there is appropriate linen available.

To ensure appropriate records are kept concerning the distribution and usage of linen.

To maintain a 6 weekly rolling catalogue of lost property.

Attend departmental mandatory training i.e. Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Customer Care and other related courses to enhance the Trust quality of service.

Ensure that all equipment used is in good working order and that all faults are notified to the relevant supervisor immediately.

Ensure that all equipment is looked after correctly and that any faults are reported immediately.

Ensure that all chemicals are measured and portioned out correctly and used as directed.
