Stair Joiner

**Job description**

Carpenter/joiner required to assemble staircase in our busy factory, to include straight flights, winders, open box treads.. Must be able to follow detailed dimensioned drawings to a high level of accuracy, and quality check own work ensuring highest standard of product for customer satisfaction.

Wage will be based on age, experience and capabilities. Must have own basic tools, be keen conscientious, excellent time keeping, reliable and hard working.

**Responsibilities**:
Understanding technical drawings

Measuring and marking wood according to technical designs

Ability to identify a range of hardwoods and softwood types to ensure correct materials used.

Cutting wood on machines or by hand

Utilising traditional and modern techniques to complete products.

Conducting quality checks

Cutting and shaping wood

Assemble stairs and units

Use both hand and power tools

Fill, sand and finish wooden products

Experience of working with different types of softwood and hardwood’s

Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness

Stair specifics

To select appropriate timbers for project, ensuring use of good quality base material.

To measure, cut, assemble and check all stair components for fitting and size. To ensure there are no flaws, marks or bends in the timber beyond natural product tolerance.

Pack all elements of the product together ready for delivery and complete paperwork.

Works efficiently as part of a team

Manage workload to meet tight timescales.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a carpenter or joiner
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and effectively
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their properties

We offer competitive pay rates based on experience. This is a full-time position with opportunities for overtime.
