The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordinating and deployment of junior doctors on e-rostering and other interfaced or related systems ie Bank/Agency. The post holder will actively promote the use of e-rostering for medical staff throughout the organisation through formal and informal communication. Influence, where necessary, to ensure that a positive stance is taken throughout the Trust. The post holder will be expected to be an advanced e-rostering user, able to encourage and support others to resolve queries.

members of the wider Human Resources team providing advice to operational and clinical managers within Clinical Service Units (CSUs) on the deployment, management and effective use of the trusts medical workforce and temporary medical staff. The post holder will work within broad policy guidelines, interpreting national policy advice and guidance relating to medical workforce and deployment on e-rostering/bank systems. The post holder will be responsible for the work of a small team supporting designated CSU/s or a group of specialties to: Ensure that the e-rostering system has the correct Doctors Roster System (DRS) templates against each roster. Upload junior doctors and align them to rosters from the Electronic staff Record (ESR).

Produce live rosters from the templates. Manage real time of resignations, swaps, sickness and absence recording on the e-Rostering system. Manage junior doctor rota gaps including securing the recruitment of medical bank staff and temporary staffing solutions in conjunction with operational and clinical managers ensuring savings/benefits are delivered in accordance with NHSI guidelines on temporary staffing and Agency Rules. Identify and monitor breaches of safe working hours that will impact patient care as stipulated within the the rules of the Junior Doctor Contract 2016 escalating and identifying alternative solutions.

The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team, including annual leave, sickness absence and appraisals. The post holder will provide a vital role in the on-going maintenance of data integrity and data quality assurance by their team. i) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Standard keyboard skills and an ability to manipulate complex data to tight deadlines. ii) MENTAL EFFORT: There is a frequent requirement for concentration where the work pattern is unpredictable.

Periods of concentration will frequently be interrupted requiring a change in activity to respond to urgent queries. Occasional periods of prolonged concentrated effort in the areas of planning, analysis, assessing the work of others. iii) EMOTIONAL EFFORT: Occasionally required to deal with difficult situations e.g. inform medical staff about changes to working patterns and pay.

Provide support and guidance to team members. iv) WORKING CONDITIONS: There is a continuous requirement to use computer equipment to fulfil the requirements of the job. There may be a requirement to visit other Trust sites.
