We are looking for an experienced KS1 Teaching Assistant to be based in school 8.40am -1.10pm + 2hrs to also include a MDS role for their allocated class.

**Type of Agreement or Contract**:Fixed Term Contract initially from Sept 24 until end of the Summer Term 25, with the potential of continuing into the Aut Term for the right person.

**Reason**:Increasing numbers within school, returning to two-form entry throughout the school.

**Working Time**:8.40am - 11.55am as a Teaching Assistant plus 2x pm hours and 11.55-1.05pm as MDS

**Working Weeks**: Term - Time Only + 5 TTD (39 Weeks)

**DBS Required**:Yes

**About the Role**:
We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant with KS1 experience to enhance our busy, thriving, nurturing school.

We already have a committed team of teaching and non-teaching staff and are keen to recruit someone with a love of life and learning and a great sense of humour

Due to increasing our number of classes in KS1 we need to recruit a Teaching Assistant for our new class.

We are looking for hard-working practitioners who are passionate about achieving excellent outcomes for all children. The successful applicants will be resilient and great team players. They will be committed to providing the very best for the children in our school and for the local community that we serve.

We are a caring two-form entry Infant School, with a 2-3yr old Preschool Provision, 3-4 yr old Nursery Provision and two 4/5yr old Reception classes.

We have an inclusive, nurturing ethos, within calm, attachment and trauma aware settings. All adults in our school treat each other and children with respect and kindness. We are committed to the emotional, as well as the academic, development of all our children, with SEMH being a high priority across the school and running through the very veins of our settings. The mental health and well-being of children, staff and parents is a constant driving force at Cedars.

We pride ourselves on the CPD that we offer our staff across the school and preschool, with many internal promotions. (Including two of our TAs becoming teachers at our school, and another our Nursery Manager)

Our successful applicant will teach and support children's development and learning from an Attachment and Trauma Informed basis.

Previous experience of working within the EY / KS1 is essential, and it is preferable that they have also worked with children with SEND.

All staff are supported through a cycle of Supervision Meetings with their Line manager, on a regular basis.

Support children’s academic and emotional development under the over-all direction of the Class Teacher

To support the class teacher in observing children’s progress and helping to identify their Next Steps.

To support their class teacher in delivering and recording specific interventions to individuals / groups of children.

Ensure that resources/materials/equipment are maintained and clean, reporting loss/damage or low stock to supervisor

Attend meetings as required, including parent evenings and training sessions.

Assist children with their meals and encourage good table manners, if required.

Set up and clear away after sessions /activities

- Extensive experience of working within the Foundation Stage / KS1 and in supporting children with SEND.

- Be a real team player for the good of the staff, children and school as a whole; developing good personal relationships within a team.
- Relates well to children and is intuitively responsive to all their needs, with a particular focus on their general well-being.
