Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full time, experienced and motivated Assistant Psychologist to Cygnet Fountains in Blackburn. This role will be working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

Cygnet, one of the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for a dedicated, caring individual to join the company as an Assistant Psychologist. We work in close partnership with the National Health Service, providing a step down service for NHS patients detained in secure facilities or acute settings. Cygnet emphasis on intensive psychiatric rehabilitation provides clients with a step-by-step programme to return to the community or suitable long-term placement.

**Cygnet Fountains**

Cygnet Fountains is a 32 bed hospital specialising in psychiatric mental health rehabilitation for men. It provides state-of-the-art facilities and a multi-disciplinary treatment programme designed to assist patients with their return to independent living. The service has a dedicated clinical team to provide a multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry and nursing led interventions. Vincent Court step-down service is also linked to Fountains and provides support to those who are stepping down from the hospital environment to the community.

**Job Role**

Full induction training is given. You will also learn from some of the most dedicated and inspirational people in our profession and just like our service users you will be learning all the time through our on-going mentoring and support. You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all you’ll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. You will have a good degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) and will have experience of working with individual experiencing mental health difficulties. Previous experience of working within in-patient mental health services and settings is essential and, ideally, you will have previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist within the field of mental health.
