**The Role ** An opportunity has arisen for a Fleet Controller - Containers within our Logistics Division. The role will be centred around ensuring our container fleet is available, maintained and cost effective across the business. Overseeing the allocation and utilisation of circa 3000 containers across Europe. This will include managing maintenance plans, which involves controlling suppliers, cost budgets, administering the internal database platforms and approving expenditure. We are looking for you to ensure that our key internal customers are receiving continuously improved service levels, with the right sized agile fleet, which allows us to present the DFDS brand, in a world class manner. On a day-to-day basis, the role will normally involve working with the small Equipment Team in Immingham, but regular dialogue with internal customers is essential. European travel will be required periodically to enhance customer solutions and delivery.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Managing supplier relationships across the European network.
- Be the key liaison with Group operational equipment users.
- Control of off-hire process with rental providers.
- Management of empty movements / positioning of containers.
- Auditing of SLAs with repairing network.
- Authorisation / challenging of container maintenance repairs.
- Control annual fleet replacement programme.
- Lead weekly utilisation meetings.
- An element of European travel required.
