Medical Receptionist

**Duties**:

- Answer and direct phone calls using a multi-line phone system
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic information is obtained
- Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays or outstanding balances
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with patient inquiries and provide general information about the practice
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow in the waiting area
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficient in using phone systems and basic computer skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred
